Malwarebytes and HijacksThis log won't work Braviax.exe Trojan.

Posted 05 September 2009 - 06:56 PM
I have had this Braviax Virus for quite sometime now (4 to be exact)
And for some reason everything I try to scan something with HijackThis or Malwarebytes it stops and when I try to open in again it says "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file (etc.)"
So. I tried installing both these programs (Including SDfix and SuperantiSpyware) inside a Flash usb.
The programs work inside the usb when I install and load them, but when I start to scan it just stops and closes out, really frustrating.
I even tried downloading fr33.exe and placing the scanners there. Not even that work.
Also I am using my brother's computer since the internet on my infected computer does not work at all. And I can't use Normal boot because everytime I log into an account I just get nothing except the wallpaper desktop showing. So safe mode is the only way to go for me.
Please help me someone.

- If you are using Firefox, make sure that your download settings are as follows:
- Tools->Options->Main tab
- Set to "Always ask me where to Save the files".
- Tools->Options->Main tab
- During the download, rename Combofix to Combo-Fix as follows:

- It is important you rename Combofix during the download, but not after.
- Please do not rename Combofix to other names, but only to the one indicated.
- Close any open browsers.
- Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
-----------------------------------------------------------
- Very Important! Temporarily disable your anti-virus, script blocking and any anti-malware real-time protection before performing a scan. They can interfere with ComboFix or remove some of its embedded files which may cause "unpredictable results".
- Click on this link to see a list of programs that should be disabled. The list is not all inclusive. If yours is not listed and you don't know how to disable it, please ask.
-----------------------------------------------------------
- Close any open browsers.
- WARNING: Combofix will disconnect your machine from the Internet as soon as it starts
- Please do not attempt to re-connect your machine back to the Internet until Combofix has completely finished.
- If there is no internet connection after running Combofix, then restart your computer to restore back your connection.
-----------------------------------------------------------
- Very Important! Temporarily disable your anti-virus, script blocking and any anti-malware real-time protection before performing a scan. They can interfere with ComboFix or remove some of its embedded files which may cause "unpredictable results".
- Double click on combo-Fix.exe & follow the prompts.
- When finished, it will produce a report for you.
- Please post the "C:\Combo-Fix.txt" .
Note: ComboFix may reset a number of Internet Explorer's settings, including making it the default browser.
Note: Combofix prevents autorun of ALL CDs, floppies and USB devices to assist with malware removal & increase security.
Please do not install any new programs or update anything unless told to do so while we are fixing your problem.

Just a few problems that came up:
-Couldn't get the new Win32kDiag.txt log when I typed: "%userprofile%\desktop\win32kdiag.exe" -f -r into the "Run" box. It said it couldn't locate the file
-I ran Combo-Fix in safe mode and there was no internet. Which means I didn't get to install the Windows recovery thing, not sure if that is necessary. (hope I don't have to go through the whole combo fix scan process again
-When I go into Normal boot and login it's still only showing the wallpaper and not the rest of the desktop menus/buttons. And it is kinda loads slow when click on a username to sign in.
All logs except the first of course are inside the attachment. I really appreciate your service, man.

win32kdiag.exe must be saved on your desktop. Anywhere else, it will return an error message. Copy the win32kdiag.exe file to your desktop and repeat the command:
"%userprofile%\desktop\win32kdiag.exe" -f -r
It should take a while to finish. Post the resulting report. (Win32kDiag.txt on your desktop)

I figured out that my desktop and icons do load up when I use Normal boot, but it's really, really, really, really slow.
I have an issue with java too, I can't for some reason delete the old Java SE Runtime Environment 5 - 6 (not update 16/15) files Neither in safe mode or Normal boot (which took almost forever to freakin' get to).
I tried to use Microsoft Installer Clean Up utility, but that doesn't work with safe mode.
I tired to use Normal boot to install the clean up utility, but it takes like ages and I mean AGES for anything to start up, making it near impossible to install in order to remove java. I can't install the new java update in safe mode either.
Is there any other scanner I can use? Or possible a cure for my slow as molasses computer X(

Lets review some of the settigs in the computer.
Download the enclosed folder. Save and extract its contents to the desktop. It contains a batch file that must be ran in Normal Mode. Once extracted, open the folder and click on the RunMe.bat Post the resulting report.
To uninstall JAVA as, an alternate program to Windows Clean up utility, use REVO.

Uninstalled java successfully as well with Revo.
I attempted to install the new java update, but it still wouldn't allow me to install even in Normal boot.

- Tick the box next to YES, I accept the Terms of Use
- Click Start
- When asked, allow the ActiveX control to install
- Click Start
- Make sure that the options Remove found threats and the option Scan unwanted applications is checked
- Click Scan (This scan can take several hours, so please be patient)
- Once the scan is completed, you may close the window
- Use Notepad to open the logfile located at C:\Program Files\EsetOnlineScanner\log.txt
- Copy and paste that log as a reply to this topic
See the instructions below:

I don't have anything to report, but I gonna do something a little different if you don't mind. I know you said I shouldn't "install any new programs or update anything unless told to do so while" fixing my problem, but my dad saw what I was doing when I asked where the Windows XP CD was at, and he told me to stop.
My dad who's also pretty good with computers said he was gonna buy some cd that would restore the registry on my computer to make it act normal and not slow. Since I removed a pretty big chuck of the Trojan (or maybe the whole thing), I think it should be safe to do so.
Now, would the registry help remove any virus remains that might've been left behind?

- Copy the entire contents of the Quote Box below to Notepad.
- Name the file as CFScript.txt
- Change the Save as Type to All Files
- and Save it on the desktop
Folder:: C:\SDFix File:: c:\program files\Common Files\xaxuqiqygy.db

Once saved, referring to the picture above, drag CFScript.txt into ComboFix.exe, and post back the resulting report. This will launch Combofix. If asked to install the Recovery Console, select Yes.
