Hi,
I am running Windows XP Prof. and I installed the free version of Malware on the computer. I ran a quick scan and it found 7 infected files and put them in quarentine. Later in the day, I wanted to a total scan but when I clicked on the icon on the desktop it told me that Anti-malware is already running. How do I get back to the pages that let me do a scan and see results, etc.?

Thanks very much,
Aaron in brooklyn

MrBrooklyn,

Do you not see a MalwareBytes icon in the taskbar? Are you running the free version or the paid version?

If you are using the free version, open up task manager by right clicking on the task bar and selecting "Task Manager" or holding CTRL-ALT-DEL for a split second at the same time -- Look for MalwareBytes Anti-Malware in the "Applications" tab. If it's there, right click on it, and select "End task". If it's not there, click on the "Processes" tab and find mbam.exe. If it's there, right click on it and select "End process". You should then be able to run MBAM again from your desktop shortcut.
Desktop ----- AMD Athlon 3700+ (2.64Ghz), 2GB DDR 400, ASUS A8N-SLI Premium, 500GB HD, Windows XP Pro SP3, Avira Antivir Personal, MBAM Pro
Laptop ----- Intel C2D P8400 (2.4 Ghz), 4GB DDR3 1066, Mainboard, 160GB HD, Dualboot: Windows 7/openSUSE 11.1, Avira Antivir Personal
