Does anyone here know how to have windows display the artist, album title, etc in a folder on Windows Explorer? My folders show the Duration, Artist, Album title, Year and Track number columns, but they are left blank, like so:

Anyone know how to display the info?

Right click over one of the columns like the name and then add whatever other column of information you want to add.

I can add whatever information I want, but it doesn't show up in the explorer folder, it's just blank, as you can see in the image.

Maybe the MP3 does not have that information encoded on it.
Take a look at an MP3 Tag Manger maybe.

I have NOT tested and cannot vouch for this program. It was the first link that came up for me in Google.

All of my Mp3's have info attatched in the MP3 tag. Before when I had XP on my previous computer, the info was shown on the windows explorer window, but now it isn't. I took a screen cap of one of my friends MP3 folders and you can see the difference.

The second one has MP3's associated with Winamp, that could be part of the reason. Also, if you haven't played them through Windows Media Player and allowed it to download all the Artist/Album info etc while online, then it won't show it either.

Right, but Windows Media Player is what grabs the extra file info for music on your computer (such as artist\album\album art etc) and that's most likely why it won't show in explorer. I could be wrong though, but that's always how I've gotten it to work.

Windows Media Player gets the extra file info for music on my computer (such as artist\album\album art etc) for me as well.
