I am not certain exactly what happened or what I negligently downloaded onto my computer, but windows explorer crashed (like it does from time to time) and when I restarted the computer (Windows XP SP3), there was nothing on the desktop other than my wallpaper. However, I could get to the internet by Ctrl-Alt-Del and then through the Task Manager
Nonetheless, I cannot right-click on the desktop (that is, nothing happens at all!) and nothing happens when I press the Windows/Start button.
I began trying SFC /scannow and it repeatedly asks for my Windows XP Home Premium CD EVEN THOUGH ITS IN THE DAMN CD DRIVE!
Help Please!

I appreciate your guidance and was going to this myself after reading many posts like my own. However, how do I get to the Anti-Malware program if I can't see anything on my desktop?

When it rains it certainly pours on ME! During the installation, I got an Error Message instructing me to contact the Anti-Malware team and report error code 732 (0,0).
Please help!
It appears that Anti-Malware is operational and waiting for me to do something. Should I just run it or does this error code mean something that I certainly don't have a clue about.

Once again, I restarted in Safe Mode and attempted to access MAM via the Task Manager and got an error message saying I was denied access - even though I was signed in as the Administrator

When attempting to run HijackThis I get another error message which reads "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have permission." SO, I restarted in Safe Mode and HijackThis was not on my desktop so I attempted to access it via the Task Manager and was instructed that I did not have proper privileges, etc.

@ken,
If you read the entire thread, it says if you can't run MBAM or HJT, just make a new post anyway and describe your problem.
