Ok...the wife tried to "end now" a process several days ago that was actually an adware agent of some kind that was loaded with downloaders, injectors, etc. Since then, I've tried everything to stop it's progression to no end. It's completely disabled MBAM, AVG, control panel, task manager, etc. It only runs partially in safe mode, but even that is limited heavily thanks to this lil care package she picked up. Cant flash the bios or nothing since the USB, and DVD Rom are also disabled. I ran MBAM in safe mode and it found and delt with 40+ infections, but now on startup (normal), there are dozens of WgaTray.exe application errors. If you just "ok" them, it's will eventually lock the system down so again you can only start in safe mode.
I saw a few other fixes due to known issues, and how to fix them, so I'm gonna try that, but if anyone can offer better ideas or more specific steps to stop this, it would be much appreciated.
These are the files I know to be affected:
smss.exe
winlogon.exe
wshost.exe
svchost.exe
lsass.exe
csrss.exe
braviax.exe (i think that's it, or something like that that keeps coming back no matter how often i delete it.)
Hope this helps!

UPDATE!
Ok, i got MBAM installed and ran a quick scan. It found and delt with 40 more infections. One problem, when i try to update the program, i get error code 732 (0,0) so appearently my internet is still disabled. I'm currently running a full system scan under the 2551 definitions database, but i think it's still infected and mbam cant be updated to find the rest.

No trees were harmed in the posting of this message...however an extraordinarily large number of electrons were horribly inconvenienced.
