Just a quick question, I guess I should ask about Opera too since I use it on occasion also. I never see it in quick scan so thought I'd ask. Or is it because I have Firefox installed on a drive other than C: that it is just being missed? Thanks guys for the great application.

deathtospyware,

Are your referring to a quick scan or a full scan? Quick scans cover the known locations of malware while a full scan would do a more thorough scan of all locations. Does that help?

Just the quick scan. Reason I ask is the quick scan does check temporary IE folders and with more malware now targeting Firefox I was just wondering if the quick scan included the Firefox folders. Or do the infections just come through Firefox and go to the usual places?

Hey deathtospyware,

I believe the temporary internet file folder or cache location for Firefox is located @ C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\randomly generated 8 characters.default\

I am not sure if MBAM scans that location by default during a quick scan. I think a developer would be able to answer that question more clearly.

You can go into the C:\Documents and Settings\Francis\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\ and right click and select Scan with malware anti-malware

Francis,

That's a decent idea except for the fact that just recently, I learned that the scan from the context menu does not use heuristics so you'd be missing a big part of the effectiveness of MBAM.
