I'm having some issues with my computer right now.

All my anti-spyware programs are not working. Malware shuts down after 2 seconds of scanning then when I try to restart the program it says "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."

So I go to where Malware is installed, right-click and go to security, change all the permissions back to normal, then try running it again. Same results. I re-install. Same results.

Lavasoft's Ad-aware also doesn't run.

I have tried everything! I deleted all cru629.dat files and braviax.exe files and still nothing works.

I currently use Mozilla Firefox and run Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2.

Oh yea HiJackThis this does the same thing, scans for about 2 seconds then closes down and same error pops up.

Any help will be appreciated..or should I just go through the trouble of re-formatting?

Hi and welcome to Malwarebytes.

Please visit this webpage for instructions for running ComboFix:
http://www.bleepingc...to-use-combofix

  • When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.
  • Please post the C:\ComboFix.txt along with a new HijackThis log so we may continue cleaning the system.
