Hi, first time i have encountered any viruses :[

I am very picky what pages i will visit but had a friend here surfing on my PC and it seemed to have picked up something nasty...

I run windows XP sp3

I am currently running in safe mode with networking as this is my only PC.

I found b.exe running in the task manager and killed it.

I try to run malwarebytes and hijackthis but they start to scan and then stop a few seconds in.

If i try again they error tells me i don't have permissions to run it and it gives an error message (5).

avg is working but found nothing but a few cookies.

SUPERantispyware is working but scan found nothing.

I see other threads here with similar type symptoms, but i dunno what to do so am posting here and awaiting your help, thank you very much for any help to come.

hmm there is no way to edit my post so i had to triple post eek! :[

well i removed my old installs of hijackthis and malware bytes and installed them both and have updated avg.
