The only problem I am experiencing at the moment is that Avast! will not run. MBAM, SB S&D and Prvx CSI all function. There does not seem to be any other "glitches" at this time.

This problem is more complex than I thought.

When Avast! would not run (see above), I did a manual update of the program (It is set for auto updates). The manual update allowed AVAST! to work again and I did a thorough scan. It found JS: Redirector-G[Trj] in several files. I chose to have Avast! move the infected files to the virus chest. The final report showed that a couple of them had been moved, but for most of them it reported: Problem occurred in moving them to the virus chest.

This is of vital coincern to me as I maintain my own website and done an FTP upload to the site only minutes before doing the MBAM scan that originally found the Trojan.Agent. I do not know how this occurred. I have both Avast! and Prevx CSI scan running all the time, Avast! is on auto update, and I had run MBAM and SB S&D only 5 days previous.

Help, this has me very concerned, especially about impact on my website. I have checked some of the pages on my website and have not found any malicious code. Also, so far anyway, google searches are not being misdirected.

Hi,

What mbam detected previously was actually a false positive and has been resolved already (last week).

If the website you are running appears OK and there are no iframes or any other code added you don't recognise, then you should be OK though.
What avast reported, what files were this where this JS: Redirector-G[Trj] found them? html, asp, php etc?
Did you check these files manually as well? (open with notepad).

Hi, and thank you for your quick response. What AVAST! discovered were old .html files that were in a long unused and forgoten folder, created when my website did, in fact, have a infection.

The only thing I am left concerned about is this. I had MBAM delete and quarantine (as you can see in my post) a number of registry keys/value. How do I find out if they have been replaced? Need to be restored? etc.? I do not know how to access a list of my registry keys/values to check to see if they are there as they should be.

In that case, I would delete that entire old folder where those files are/were located and download the files from your FTP again so you have a backup (a clean one this time) :)

When mbam deletes something and you want to restore it again, then select the quarantine option, select what you want to restore in there and click restore.
In your case, this is not needed since you reinstalled Avast, so Avast already restored those keys and file anyway. :)

Thank you for your quick response.

I have deleted the folder and all the files that held my back-up.

As to MABAM: I was under the impression that the only AVAST! file that was deleted was the actskin4.ocx. I did not know that the other deleted registry keyes/value were all part of AVAST!

Thank you so much for your help. :)

Hi,

Well, they were not really part of Avast but part of the ocx component. And since Avast uses that component as well, those registry keys were created too when installing Avast :)
