[gotvirus]

THANK YOU FOR LOOKING AT THIS! I am also running Stopzilla which finds 2 of these, and tries to remove them, but the show up again.

Hi,

I see you have Viewpoint installed...
Viewpoint Manager is considered as foistware instead of malware since it is installed without users approval but doesn't spy or do anything "bad". This will change from what we know in 2006 read this article: http://www.clickz.co...cle.php/3561546
I suggest you remove the program now. Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove the following programs if present.

• Viewpoint
  
• Viewpoint Manager
  
• Viewpoint Media Player

The same applies for the Swags Bucks Toolbar you have installed here. This is a conduit/effectivebrand toolbar and some have a questionable reputation. If you really use this toolbar, keep it, otherwise uninstall it.

Then, please update MalwareBytes, because the databaseversion is outdated.

• Start MalwareBytes and click the Update tab. There click "Check for updates"
  
• Once the updates are downloaded, perform a quick scan again.
  
• The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  
• When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  
• Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  
• When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
  
• The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  
• Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log, then we'll proceed from there with new steps.

Hi,

Something is interfering here with the removal after reboot and I guess it's Windows Defender doing this and blocking mbam cleanup after reboot.
That's why, please disable Windows Defender.

To turn real-time protection off
Open Windows Defender. (Click Start, click Programs, and then click Windows Defender.)
Click Tools, and then click General Settings.
Under Real-time protection options, Uncheck the Turn on real-time protection (recommended) check box.
Then click Save.
Then run malwarebytes again, allow it to reboot when it asks. Then after reboot, run malwarebytes once again and post the latest malwarebytes log in your next reply.

No need to uninstall anything.
It looks like Windows Defender is still up and running here which explains why mbam couldn't clean after reboot.
Anyway, let's use something else instead, otherwise we'll just run around in circles..

Hi,

This looks OK again.

* Go to start > run and copy and paste next command in the field:

ComboFix /u

Make sure there's a space between Combofix and /
Then hit enter.

This will uninstall Combofix, delete its related folders and files, reset your clock settings, hide file extensions, hide the system/hidden files and resets System Restore again.

Let me know in your next reply how things are now.

ComboFix is uninstalled. I'm running AVG Free, Malwarebytes, and Stopzilla. If I find anything I'll let you know, but I bet we'll be good. Hopefully I will be able to defrag now too! Thanks for your help!
