My son has a laptop on order with Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit on order. (Quite the machine, I'm a little jealous!) Is Malwarebytes compatible with the 64-bit version? I would like to buy it for him when his system gets here. Not that I want to interfere, but any computer on our home network is going to have to be up to my standards when it comes to security.
It comes with a trial version of McAfee Virus-Scan plus installed as well. I don't know if he'll find he likes that and will end up keeping it or not.

Please explain him that an A/V + Anti-Malware Prog. will give a Layered Protection to his system.
Regards.

Thanks for the link.
Re the AV, I guess I could have been clearer about that.
What I meant is that I don't know if he would want to stick with McAfee or if he'll want to choose a different product instead. He wouldn't go without an AV of some kind.

Ask him to try Avira free or Avast free ver. which I found are better products than what came preinstalled in your son's laptop.
