I was on Facebook for about ½ hour and I’d left my computer for about 5 minutes.
Suddenly the screen went blue and the only thing I could do was shut down my computer.
When I rebooted, I was unable to run my Malwarebytes which always does a wonderful job of protecting me from viruses.
My AVG still runs, but I don’t know how much protection I’m getting from that, but why won’t my Malwarebytes work?
Have you gotten any other reports of screens going blue while in Facebook?
I don’t know if the problem came from Facebook or from other site which I had previously visited and the virus took all that time to work its way thru my computer.
I deleted the Malwarebytes and re-downloaded it, but immediately after installation it gave me a message – Code 2 or something like that, but it wouldn’t work.
Should I run the Restore Windows program or reformat my disc and reinstall Windows? My computer is a Dell laptop with Windwos XP which gives me great service…….. most of the time.
Thank you for any advice you might give me.
Sincerely,
James Roth

@ Ben the man
This has never happened to me on Facebook or any other site.
Before the screen went blue, if you had any time and saw it before then, were there any messages from Mbam asking you to ignore or quarantine something? That's the only thing I can think of, maybe something didn't get quarantined in time but I would imagine that Mbam would wait for you to choose ignore or quarantine, but I am not positive on that.
Did you run mbam clean inbetween uninstalling and re-downloading mbam by any chance? If not, please go here and follow RubbeR DuckY's directions:

(if you are still able to, that is)
As for the rest of your question, I am not sure what is going on or how to fix it, I'll let someone who knows more than me answer that question.
Good luck and I hope you don't have to reformat
