I have installed and uninstalled mbam so many times. I'm lost.
I get error run-time error '440;' automation error and Run-time error '0'
I have run a reg cleaner en-between install and uninstall. I sure could
use a hand here cause it's not working.

try this and see if it helps:

# Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware using Add/Remove programs in the control panel.
# Restart your computer (very important).
# Download and run this utility. mbam-clean.exe
# It will ask to restart your computer (please allow it to).
# After the computer restarts, Temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here

Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent if you are using the paid version

Followed instructions and reinstalled still the same error.

I did try that and still the same issues. Everything registered successfully. rebooted.

unless the admins or experts have other suggestions, I would follow these steps, as your system might be infected

Scan and post logs - read note at bottom in green
If you're having Malware related issues with your computer that you're unable to resolve.
