I am a complete idiot when it comes to computers. I have been reading these forums for hrs trying to figure this thing out but I cant so Im going to swallow the pride and ask... There is a program on my pc (xp home) that is messing everything up. It will not let me go to certain websites, no websites through links I have to type it in, I have tried spybot, malwarebytes, adaware and a couple other programs, they will not open. I also cant open pictures, or any executables other than iexplorer and firefox. I am in safemode w networking now and I can open most programs but still no malware or avirus etc... I tried to run rootrepeal, in the driver scan there is nothing with the letters shown in the "pinned article" on this forum. When I tried to run a files scan to post, it shows around 20 files and the first says mbr rootkit detected i think. Then the program just closes while it is still scanning.... Like mbam did the first time I tried to run a scan... Sorry if I left out details Ill be battling this thing through the night so let me know any more you need and Ill tell ya... Thanks so much for any help!!!!!!!

Hi,

Let's see what can be done there.

Download DDS and save it to your desktop from here or here or here.
Disable any script blocker, and then double click dds.scr to run the tool.
  • When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
    • DDS.txt
    • Attach.txt
  • Save both reports to your desktop. Post them back to your topic.

Download GMER here by clicking download exe -button and then saving it your desktop:
  • Double-click .exe that you downloaded
  • Click rootkit-tab and then scan.
  • Don't check
    Show All
    box while scanning in progress!

  • When scanning is ready, click Copy.
  • This copies log to clipboard
  • Post log in your reply.
