I was hit with the Trojan.Vundo sysware/virus and had a hell of a time cleaning it off by rescanning with AVG, Trend Micro and Malwarebyes several times. I have one last linger issue. All anti-virus scans say I am clean and Malwarebutes now says:
Registry Data Items Infected:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Security Center\UpdatesDisableNotify (Disabled.SecurityCenter) -> Bad: (1) Good: (0) -> No action taken.
No matter how many times I let MBAM reboot and clean it off it is always there as soon as I get back in and soon after it gets hit with the Trojan.Vundo (different version) again. I have purchased MBAM hoping that its resident shield will prevent it from coming back but whatever is here is preventing the service from installing; I get the two following messages, in the order listed, when I try to start the protection modules:
“[CreateService] Failed to perform desired action. Error Code:1073”
“The Malwarebytes’ Protection Module is already running.”
But of course it is not
I have removed the drives and put them in another PC as slave drives and scanned them with the latest MBAM and it says that there is nothing there, but as soon as I put them back in, boot up and scan with MBAM again it is found.
Also, I cannot get into any Safe Mode option.
Here are my MBAM and Hijack This Logs:
