Hello all,
It seems my computer is completely infested with malware, though to be fair I'm not exactly sure that it's that as opposed to spyware, or even just a normal virus.
Here's what I know:
My internet browser has been opening up for no reason, showing ads, and just recently my OS (Windows Vista Home Premium SP1) displayed a message saying that Windows was recovering from a serious error and would be restarted in one minute. It never did restart, but within seconds my entire screen went a sort of beige color, and I lost all control over the interface. After restarting and running a full system scan, AVG Free Edition (v 9.0) detected and deleted some 55 infections. After this, it detected a long list of Trojans, and apparently deleted this. Since that point I did some research and was told that what I was now dealing with was malware that is in my system and that AVG is unable to deal with. I tried downloading and running Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, but am unable to start a scan. When I do, the program suddenly terminates and I am unable to start it again using the shortcut. I've tried re-naming the .exe file as well as the installation file, neither of which have worked. Following advice I found on a forum (http://forums.cnet.c...threadID=340122), I downloaded Hijack This and attempted to run a scan and make a log. That, too, was unable to run. The program just terminated suddenly.
Please help! I have no idea what to do!
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Jason

Hi,
* Please visit this webpage for instructions for downloading and running ComboFix:

Post the log from ComboFix in your next reply.
Please make sure you disable ALL of your Antivirus/Antispyware/Firewall before running ComboFix..This because Security Software may see some components ComboFix uses (prep.com for example) as suspicious and blocks the tool, or even deletes it. Please visit HERE if you don't know how.
