Greetings everybody (and thanks in advance to any knowledgeable and altruistic members).

Our computer has had a history of diverse, heavy, troublesome infections.

In spite of this, we (father and son) are (still) considerably amateurish at anti-virus and anti-malware protection (we are not computer experts in general) but are willing to improve.

Forum members, please do not get irritated if this topic is being posted in the wrong forum or subforum (if so, indicate the right forum). We admit our lack of education on these topics and seek charitable instruction.

Recently, we have these pop-ups (fihupafa.dll and pazitimo.dll) upon start-up and we don't know what to do.

We do have Malwarebytes 1.41 and AVG 9. We try to update and use the scanners relatively regularly, but things always seem to slip through somehow...

It seemed HijackThis might be useful (to get at the root), and we have downloaded HijackThis and have a logfile but we are not sure how to interpret it, or where precisely to post it for help. It is confessed we are confused as to what steps to take now.

We realize there are probably thousands of simple-minded newcomers everyday on these forums just as ill-instructed; please forgive our tedious confusion and ungraceful disorientation.

If any one can offer friendly advice, it is appreciated. Roberto

Hi,

Please update malwarebytes via the update tab.
Let it quarantine/delete everything it found.
Then reboot.
It's normal that you'll get errors after reboot, that's why we also need to see a HijackThislog from after malwarebytes run and reboot.
So scan with HijackThis and click save log. Post the log in your next reply together with the log from Malwarebytes :)

...as I said, if I am making a fool of myself and posted in the wrong forum or subforum, would someone perhaps point out where I should go for this problem?...

English is not my first language; forgive me if my speech seems stultified (sp?). (Perhaps that is why no-one is responding?...)

Our house/family contributes competently to the world in other ways than (primarily) through the computer; but, this would be a shame if esoterically-adept experts could not drop the (accidentally) technically uninstructed a few scraps of advice or knowledge?... The postmodern world of anti-malware/anti-virus computer knowledge is not native to us, but perhaps others could still be allowed to traverse it somewhat, anyway?...

Any generous altruists around to offer just a few words of advice on the right first steps to the exoterical non-experts of computer-protection, with our "pazitimo.dll" and "fihupafa.dll" issues? Thanks. Roberto

Hi Roberto,

No, you didn't post in the wrong forum. :)
Please read my previous post with instructions, because I need the malwarebytes log and the HijackThislog to help you further. It's difficult for me to help without logs.

Thanks.

Thanks sincerely, miekiemoes. I did not see your post before I posted my recent reply. I am grateful from the heart for your goodwill in selflessly helping a random self-discomposed non-expert.

I will try to follow your instructions and then post as you indicate. Please forgive me if I take longer than average in preparing this information.

Thank you so much again. Indebted, Roberto

Meeting more resistance (computer-wise) than I thought.

I am definitely currently trying to perform these basic tasks, but I wanted to apologize if it takes a (slightly) longer amount of time than expected--I hope to be able to post (approximately) in an hour or two, hopefully...but please do not make even an minute of your time revolve around me in the slightest way... I will try to get this done as soon as possible...

Thank you, miekiemoes, once again for your helpfulness and patience. Roberto

Hi Roberto,

This looks OK again. <_<

Please read my Prevention page with lots of info and tips how to prevent this in the future.
And if you want to improve speed/system performance after malware removal, take a look here.
Extra note: Make sure your programs are up to date - because older versions may contain Security Leaks. To find out what programs need to be updated, please run the Secunia Software Inspector Scan.

Happy Surfing again!
