I know that Malwarebytes is the problem because when I untick "Start with Windows" Windows XP loads up without a problem.
Any solution to this, apart from manually starting up protection after XP startup?
Thanks =]

Try adding the following files to the exclusions list in your anti-virus software:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\mbam.sys
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe

Thanks for that suggestion, but it doesn't seem to change anything.

Hello seivohc, and welcome to Malwarebytes.org

Every version of Anti-Virus is different and what and where you set exclusions matters. What Anti-Virus program are you using? Have you looked at the FAQ yet?
If these options don't help then please follow the directions below.

Not sure which version you have but 3.x did seem to have issues as I recall. The newer version 4 appears to be better at the exclusions according to some users.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that.
I'm using version 4.0.468.0 at the moment.
I might just wait until Malwarebytes 1.42 is released and in the meantime I'll re-read those links you posted earlier to check if I missed anything.
Oh, and I shall report back at a later date.
Thanks again for your help =]
