I would like to request that the FULL SCAN option auto select FIXED DRIVES only.

Currently when on a network it selects all mapped drives which a user would typically not have rights to scan anyways.

It currently excludes CD-ROM drives. I will have to look to exclude network drives, although in theory it reads them as a fixed drive on the network. Good suggestion.

Here are some links which may be of assistance. I would not rely on WMI though as it could be broken on a system, thus unreliable.

How To Determine the Type of Drive Using Win32

Quote

SUMMARY
There are many types of drives that Windows can detect and the Win32 API GetDriveType gives the Visual Basic programmer a simple way to differentiate between them. Below is a code sample showing how to use the API.

I do not use WMI, ever, due to reasons you stated above.

I already exclude DRIVE_CDROM, I will also exclude DRIVE_REMOTE.

Thanks!

Thanks - I created sort of a canned message for using it but then realized that a FULL would probably confuse new users if they had drives mapped.

This has been added and will be in full effect for new users only. If you have made your selections already and the network drives are checked, MBAM remembers this setting and it will override the default (unchecked) value of network and CD-ROM drives.

Okay sounds good, unless someone else responds with issues with it.

Just now running this on a system that has one of the multi drive card readers.
There are no card in any of them and it has them checked to scan.
Is it possible to do a pre-scan to look for media and if no media detected then to uncheck them
The window to choose for checking/un-checking is a bit small in my opinion which makes it a bit troublesome to
un-check multiple drives, especially ones that can't be scanned anyways.

Thanks
