Everytime i try to run malwarebytes it stops after about 17 mins or so. Windows says the program has stopped working and closes it. i am running vista home premium. this is what the error says in the event viewer:
Faulting application mbam.exe, version 1.28.0.0, time stamp 0x48c752aa, faulting module comctl32.dll, version 6.10.6000.16386, time stamp 0x4549bd09, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x0005534f, process id 0xff8, application start time 0x01c913545ecb2aff.
does anyone know why this is happening? thanks.

What version of MBAM are you using? Are you doing a quick scan or full system scan? What part of the scan does it stop at, are you able to see where in the scan process it gets before failure? Try right clicking and running as an administrator, and doing a quick scan only.

i have tried running the full scan as an administrator, same thing.

This happens sometimes with the full scan, still trying to figure out why. Run the quick scan, it was designed to catch all malware that we know of.
