Update Error

I installed mbam v 1.46 earlier and get an error message of MBAM_ERROR_UPDATING(12150,0,WINHTTPQUERYHEADERS). i SAW THE EARLIER POST WITH A SUGGESTED FIX AND FOLLOWED THOSE INSTRUCTIONS WITH THE SAME RESULT. ANYONE HAVE A SUGGESTION?

I am using the freeware version.

I thought that may be the cause - Please first read ->This Item from the FAQ area , and if you have the Norton Add on pack enabled then it should be disabled

(from the people at Symantic) -

If you use Norton Internet Security, and you have the Add-On Pack installed, then please note that the Add-On Pack will block the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware update process. Symantec has discontinued support for the Add-On Pack, and they have asked us to recommend to their customers that they uninstall the Add-On Pack and replace it with ->Norton Online Family. Since Norton Online Family is compatible with the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware update process, replacing the Add-On Pack with it will solve any Norton Internet Security related update issues -

I added the exclusions as shown in the link you provided, saved and rebooted the computer with the same error message. I then completely disabled the NIS 2009 program and the Norton Systemworks and tried to run update with the same error result. Short of uninstalling Norton, is there anything else to try?

Please reinstall the program - Use the directions below and select your Operating system - Update the program when finished and try a Quick scan -

To Fully Remove and Reinstall a Fresh New Copy of Malwarebytes - Read Carefully

Windows XP:

• Click on Start and select Control Panel
  
• Open Add/Remove Programs
  
• Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  
• Restart your computer very important !
  
• Download and run mbam-clean.exe from Here
  

It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so, very important

After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here

Windows Vista and Windows 7:

• Click on the Start button and select Control Panel
  
• Click on Programs and Features
  
• Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  
• Restart your computer very important !
  
• Download and run mbam-clean.exe from Here

After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here

Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Paid version only

Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.

Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now reset any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications.
