hello, dear Malwarebytes users,

I have a big problem with freshly installation of mbam version 1.28

I installed the program an entered a valid licence key(I have got it 1 day ago on mbam official website)

I can't start the resident protection module,
I receive the following message : "Failed to perform desired action. Error Code: 997 (MBAMService)

I give you above more details :
- I was logged as an administrator user during setup
- My computer : HP Pavilion 8512
- Operating system : Win XP Pro 32 bits with service pack 3

Troubleshooting :
- when I close the program, it never asks me if I really want to quit
- if I try to start mbamservice using control panel, I get an error #5 (acces denied),
but, curiously, if I try to launch it with "administrator" login and password given,
it works !!!

If somebody can help me, please,
great thanks

best regards
----------
Chris

I am basically having the same problem except I show an Error Code:001.

I just purchased the pro version and entered the ID and Key code.

I am using an Acer aspire 8920 laptop with intel duel core processor and windows vista home premium 64 bit

How do I get around this error code.

Thanks

Rick

The 997 error will be fixed in the next version (due hopefully tomorrow). The 001 error is because of 64-bit. Our product is not yet 64-bit compatible, please e-mail me for a refund.
