Scanning a folder with approx. 45 .sol files in (1.45MB in total) takes around 3min. and program becomes unresponsive for some time, although cpu usage doesn't go beyond 20%. Tried the same scan with 1.46 version and it's taking around 20 seconds without application's "non-responding state". Any ideas?

I assume you were only scanning that one folder via the right-click menu entry "Scan with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware"? Is it possible that the files were just fragmented, or that there may have been some errors in the file system?
The .sol file extension is supposed to be for the "Flash Local Shared Object File" format, so were these backups or were you scanning the folder Adobe Flash stores these?
