Heya,

Been using Malwarebytes for ages, its fantastic.

Upgraded to a new version and AVG picked up 2 trojans.

Now maleware keeps crashing and i cant delete it or uninstall. :)

How can i delete it and get malewarebytes back on?

The exact same thing just happened to me! What do I do now? Any help would be appreciated.

I think you'll find that because many have the crack keygen number, Malwarebytes have sent a patch to all those IP's that subscribed because AVG do not send out false positives!

You have indeed picked up trojans.

Add the

C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

Directory to exclusions in AVG. It should be setup this way anyway to prevent conflicts.

Restore the files from Quarantine in AVG.

This should fix everything.

I have just tried to reinstall after clean up and it wont have it still coming up with same threat. Please can you tell me what to do I am not very clever at all this.I saw the 2 threats in my AVG vrus vault but not sure what to do now help please.

Lottie. Do this first in AVG

# Open AVG and click on Tools and select Advanced Settings

# Click on Resident Shield

# Click on Exceptions then click Add Path

# Exclude the following directories:

# C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

It should no longer detect the files.

Other than that you will have to wait till AVG fixes this in their next def update.

If you re-roll your pc to an ealier restore point you can uninstall the crashed version of malwarebytes. I've not put it back on my pc yet as im waiting for the report I sent to AVG to update with these 'false' trojans to be fixed. if i put the new version on now I know on installing it avg will just crash it again.

Otherwise im the same as lottie I'm rubbish at this things, ill just leave the 4 trojans in the vault :) for now, or should i do something with them?

I don't really want to roll back my system tbh,

Can anyone at Malwarebytes please tell me why the phone number for the UK is stating out of office hours when its half two in the afternoon here, Its only Christmas eve?

Following the instructions above to add MBAM to the AVG exclusion list is by far your best option here.

Lottie, from all im reading it seems everything is fine. Just a problem on AVG's behalf. Uninstall malware and wait a few days for some avg updates or, like me I'll be reading these forums to keep upto date.

For the time being I have spybot search and destroy running as well as AVG and everythings running fine.

Keep doing what you're doing as normal for now I say.

Jimbo,

We have no office in the UK. Maybe you mean AVG? We are based in the US.

Lottie you are not infected. This is a not true detection by AVG. If you add the exceptions in AVG like i said. Run the clean again and reinstall mbam it should be ok.

I don't recommend doing a system restore. It probably won't restore our files.

Dont know if this has worked! just done a system restore back to yesterday and everything seems back to normal!

Dont know if it will carry on like that mbam is working no threat message coming up (as yet) AVG is just doing a scan willl let you know if the threat message comes up :)
