Good morning everyone. I am an avid Malwarebytes user(currently use on 5 PC's) and have never seen this error. The complete error line is as follows:

Runtime Error '440': Automation Error

I attempted to run the program then received the error. I completely removed it with Revo and also searched using jv16. I ran defrag, restarted pc, then tried to reinstall Malwarebytes and am still receiving the error. I then received an NEW error as follows:

VbAccelerator SGrid II Control

runtime error '0'

or something to that effect.

I searched for this error and found a tip that said to go to "RUN" and enter the following:

regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\tadb8.ocx (also found another suggestion but the XADB8 was changed to TADB8.

After running the above commands it says FAILED--THE SPECIFIED MODULE COULD NOT BE FOUND.

I love Malwarebytes and really would like to continue use. Any help with this willl be greatly appreciated.

Try this, and who deleted my post? if linking is not allowed I'm sorry!

installed malware bytes on a known infected computer and left "update" and "launch mbam" checked at the end and clicked finish. It just hung for a long time and locked up. rebooted and when it came back up I launched the program and immediately recieved Runtime Error '440': Automation Error followed by VbAccelerator SGrid II Control error and after clicking ok to both the program haults. Looked in add/remove to remove and re-install but mbam is not there. installed over the top(without uninstalling) but recieved similar errors durring the install. rebooted and of course the same original errors come up when the program is launched. i went into c:/program files/malware bytes anti malware folder and ran unins000.exe, this is the core uninstaller. rebooted and installed the program again with no errors. rebooted again and ram mbam to remove tons of nasties

@Johnny5izAlive
If you're having issues running, or installing MBAM first review this FAQ and if you're still having issues then follow the directions below and someone will assist you as soon as they can.

Scan and post logs - read note at bottom in green
If you're having Malware related issues with your computer that you're unable to resolve.
  • Please do not post any logs in the General forum. We do not work on any logs posted in the General forum.
  • Please do not install any software or use any removal/scanning tool except for those you're requested to run by the Helper that will assist you.
  • Using these other tools often makes the cleanup task more difficult and time consuming.
  • If you have already submitted for assistance at one of the other support sites on the Internet then you should not post a new log here, you should stay working with the Helper from that site until the issue is resolved.
  • Do not assume you're clean because you don't see something in the logs. Please wait until the person assisting you provides feedback.
  • There are often many others that require asistance as well, so please be patient. If no one has responded within 48 hours then please go ahead and post a request for review
  • NOTE: If for some reason you're unable to run some or any of the tools in the first link, then skip that step and move on to the next one. If you can't even run HijackThis, then just proceed and post a NEW topic as shown in the second link describing your issues and someone will assist you as soon as they can.
