First time here folks, and I hate to admit it, but I really know nothing about this stuff, so sorry if I'm missing something that's been done earlier.

I appear to have a vundo trojan. spybot will find and erase it, but it just returns. Rogueremover find it instantly, but on both the free and pro versions, when I try to remove it, the program crashes, and I get the standard windows error message of "there has been an error which forced the program to close, would you like to send a report..." or words to that effect.

I did a screenshot of the error message and attached it. Does anyone have any ideas??

Thanks in advance.

PS: This is the same for normal and safe mode. Also, I just noticed that my copy of the error report is about worthless, as it doesn't show the whole thing. If you let me know how to display it all, or what you need, I'll do it.

Thanks

I would try installing Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware http://www.majorgeeks.com/Malwarebytes_Ant...ware_d5756.html Update it and run a quick scan and it should get rid of it. To make sure, after it removes it, reboot and do another quick scan to verify.

Done, and it seems to be working so far. I can't thank you enough. Being a novice, this is amazingly frustrating.

Man, I would LOVE to find one of the clowns that makes this crap, and rip his balls off with a vice grip.

Excellent, glad I could help. If you still have issues then read the instructions here: http://www.malwareby...?showtopic=2936 and post your logs in a new topic here: http://www.malwareby...php?showforum=7

Please be sure not to install any software or use any removal/scanning tools exept those that you are instructed to by the expert who will be assisting you as doing so can make their job much more difficult. I hope I was helpful. Good luck and safe surfing.

PS: I couldn't agree more about that particular use for a pair of vice grips. :)
