I have Zone Alarm 8.0 av with it's Program Control and firewall. In the program control I set it to allow all Malwarebytes items. However when MB tries to aut-update I get an error saying it failed and to check my firewall settings. I have no idea what to do to allow the update. If I shut off the ZA firewall the update works fine.

Greetings and welcome. Please open ZA and go into program control and click on Programs. You should see the processes for Malwarebytes' and the updater, please ensure that all 4 collums have a green check mark next to them for Malwarebytes' and it's updater. If this doesn't fix the problem please let me know. Good luck and safe surfing.

In the Program Control all processes for Malwarebytes are set Super Trusted. Still no go. As I said it is not the Program Control but the ZA Firewall that is blocking the update. Another issue connected to this is that when the update fails MB then says it can't find the database at all. This after successful updates obtained via disabling the ZA firewall have been ran. It's like the database disappears. You can again turn the ZA firewall off and run an update which takes forever. When it's done it says it updated the DB from 0 to whatever the number currently is. I'm seriously considering asking for a refund.

Please try to choose "malwarebytes.org" to update.
It's not a problem of ZoneAlarm I think, I had the same issue with Kaspersky Internet Suite 2009.

regards and sorry for my english

That is quite possible as there have been several users posting with issues regarding SecurityWonks.net server and problems with MBAM pro autoupdates. The developers are looking into it and fixing it in the next release.
