The virus that attacked my computer did the same redirect to other websites, plus it does not let me install or run Malwarebytes, Spybot, etc; does not let me update AVG; Won't let me go to any of the anti virus or anti spyware sites; and won let me run System Restore.
I ran A2 Free and Advanced Security Protector but inspite of cleaning some did not get rid of it. I would appreciate some help on 1) Running malwarebytes from a disc 2) Changes to the Registry 3) Identifying and correcting the problem on HT. This one is a real pain. Thank you.

Greetings nak3113 and welcome. It sounds like you might have a rootkit that's been going around. Please follow AdvancedSetup's instructions in this post: http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.p...amp;#entry35969 If that gets Malwarebytes' running, then please read the instructions here: http://www.malwareby...?showtopic=2936 and post your logs in a new topic here: http://www.malwareby...php?showforum=7

Please be sure not to install any software or use any removal/scanning tools exept those that you are instructed to by the expert who will be assisting you as doing so can make their job much more difficult. I hope I was helpful. Good luck and safe surfing.

Thank you very mch. I did exactly as you wrote and it seems to have worked. The disabling of TDSSserv allowed me to install MB (after renaming it) and Quick scan found 33 infections, and successfully got rid of them. I then ran Spybot S&D which found an additional 4/5 infections and cleaned them out. I am able to connect to and update from all the Sites (AVG, MB, etc) I was previously blocked from. I have not tried system restore, but I am too satisfied and sleepy to attempt that right now. Thanks again.
