I've just removed the rogue XLG Security Center from a customer's computer. First of all I ran a full scan with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware with the latest database (1488). But Malwarebytes Anti-Malware found no malware infections whatsoever. So, obviously, I then had to do a manual removal.
I found that the XLG Security Center files were not situated in the usual C:\WINDOWS\sysutils folder. Instead, they were situated in a folder called C:\Program Files\xdoctor
There were also a few 'strange' entries in the C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers folder.
I just thought I'd give you guys a 'heads up' on this because it seems that Malwarebytes Anti-Malware cannot cure (or even find) this rogue variant at the moment.
