Searchqu invasion

Recommended Posts

After searching for a video torrent,I ended up with iLivid on my computer and it has resulted in giving me a Searchqu toolbar I cannot get rid of. My System Restore will not run. I have tried my Avast and Malwarebytes. They found a couple of infections. I removed them, but I still have the Searchqu. Can you help me get my system back to normal?

Hi,

Here's another one to add to 'Searchqu', 'inbox-dot-com' ~ it took over Internet Explorer about 1 month ago, I spent all last night trying to block it and lost IE9 by so doing. Today IE seems to have recovered but it was touch & go.

Apparently Malwarebytes does not see either Searchqu or Inbox as a threat so does nothing about them. My antivirus did nothing to stop these invaders invading my computer.

I have tryped their urls into my antivirus and that has had an effect (even though it tripped up IE which Inbox had hijacked). I have also sought to manually block them in Firefox, IE and Chrome.

Can find no utility in Malwarebytes to block them. This seems bizarre. If Searchqu and Inbox aren't malware what are they?

Accidentally downloading an 'ilivid' program got me Searchqu. How Inbox got onto my computer I will never know.

Malwarebytes guru people - how do we block these spoof browsers from invading our precious computers please?

Many thanks,

KR
