I am infected with ms 2009. I tried to download Malware and was unable. I then used an uneffected system and transfered the install files via USB. Successfully installed Malware. When I try to launch....nothing happens. What do I do????
THanks in advance for helping!

Greetings, and welcome. Please refer to this post by AdvancedSetup: http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.p...amp;#entry35969
If that doesn't sort it out, then please navigate to C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and rename the file mbam.exe then double click the renamed file to run it. Try to update from the SecurityWonks.net mirror and if it won't update from there either, then please download the definitions installer from here: http://www.gt500.org...es/database.jsp Once you've updated it, run a quick scan and remove whatever is found and reboot if necessary. If there are still signs of infections after you get MBAM to run, then please read the instructions here:
http://www.malwareby...?showtopic=2936
and post your logs in a new topic here:
http://www.malwareby...php?showforum=7
Please be sure not to install any software or use any removal/scanning tools exept those that you are
instructed to by the expert who will be assisting you as doing so can make their job much more difficult.
I hope I was helpful. Good luck and safe surfing.

this advice is excellent as I just had the same issue-but worse
Even after rename mbam to setup.ext it would still not install !
I then got SuperAntiSpyware transferred to sick machine with thumb drive
renamed that file to setup2.exe and it would then install. I ran it and got 90 items, removed them
Then I was able to install mbam ( renamed to setup.exe) Then MBAM could run and it found a couple of more things
I then ran them both full scan and they came up clean
I hope my happy ending amplifies the instructions already given by exile360
