No. The free version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (MBAM) is simply a scanning and removing tool to help you remove the latest malware (malicious software).
The Pro version of MBAM ($25 for a lifetime licence, one licence per computer) does have a real-time protection component that is designed to prevent the installation of most new types of malware, and it is designed to supplement your anti-virus software without conflicting with it.

Yes, you can install the MBAM free scanner on any computer, as long as the computer is not owned or used for commercial purposes (ie. your computer at work).

McAfee has fallen a long way over the last decade or more. They really are not capable of protecting your computer, and the cost in performance loss due to McAfee's inefficient design makes it even worse. I highly recommend that you uninstall McAfee, and install the free edition of Avira AntiVir for excellent anti-virus protection.

McAfee is all marketing and sponsorships. Failed or came in last in just about any AV test that exists.
Windows 7. Norton AntiVirus 2009 installed. Satisfied.
