I downloaded and installed malwarebytes (actually about 4 times)
This is because i keep getting the following idiot box
destination component
The feature you are trying to use is on a CD ROM or other removeable disk that is not available.
insert the destination component and click Ok.
malwarebytes eventually opens for me to scan but could someone tell me what to do so that i do not get it again

Do you have the .NET framework 2.0 installed?
Perhaps the Service Pack 6 for Visual Basic 6.0: Run-Time Redistribution Pack might help.

Scratch what I said in my last post.
This issues happens when something is wrong with the Windows Installer Service (MSI). Here are some things you can do:
a) Download and install the Windows Installer 3.1 Redistributable
b) Download and run Dial-a-fix, which has an automated fix for MSI corruptions.

I am having the same problem. the destination component box comes up, but it will come up for more than malwarebytes. Just about anything it will do it for. Really annoying. Can't seem to get rid of it. Downloaded both things above, the second one actually got AVG installed on my computer (before i was getting this error when installing AVG:)
Installation:
Error: MSVC Redistributables installation failed. Installation of AVG can not continue.
But anyways, that is gone, now I just get the destination component box still coming up. Help!

Try installing the Windows Installer 4.5 Redistributable. If that doesn't help, and Dial-A-Fix doesn't help, then you may have malware/viruses/etc causing issues.
