Hello,
I have had this infection for about 40 days now. I have tried many things, used McAfee, Spybot, Malwarebytes, Spysweeper, Adaware, PCTools Spyware Doctor etc. but to no avail. Many of these programs detect and remove the virus temporarily, and they reappear again. I came across this forum and found many people to be getting help from experts. Please help, I will be posting the logs as requested. I am attaching the malaware logs. I will also get the Panda logs and the HijackThis logs next.
I ran spybot and cleaned everything before I captured the ran Malwarebytes.

I am posting the logs again as I still haven't got any help by the forum experts. Any input from the experts will be greatly appreciated. I was tempted to take some actions based on other posts, but did not as the experts have warned against it. My previous post was done on Dec 20 and can be viewed at:
http://www.malwareby...?showtopic=8665
The infection seems to appear within a few hours of quarantine. I am not able to get rid of the virus, please help. I am including the new logs.
I first ran Spybot as instructed and cleaned up the reported infection. I then ran MBAM which found and quarantined several problems. I have also captured the Panda ActiveScan and hijackthis logs.

Post back fresh MBAM and HJT logs.
Firstly, I want to thank you for your assistance. I understand your team is very busy because of these holidays, but I am truly amazed
by the number of people that are getting help from some dedicated people like you. I am sorry to have been a little impatient.
Yesterday, after posting the logs, I had turned on the McAfee Antivirus (that was disabled since Dec 20th while doing the Panda Activescan).
It did an update and started reporting deleting many Vundo infections. I also ran MBAM and deleted any of the reported infections. I also
ran Hijackthis and Fix checked the ones that were also reported by MBAM. The [tufepuleke] keeps reappearing immediately after delete.
If I keep my laptop on for a couple of hours, the laptop automatically reboots and I find several error windows showing
"Data Execution Prevention" and some processes fail to get launched.
Now that I have your help, I will strictly follow your instructions. Sorry for the above steps, I had been doing a clean on a daily basis
as that was the only way for me to continue working on this laptop. I have also disabled the McAfee Antivirus and the Spysweeper.
As for your instructions, I have removed the old version of Java (logs attached). I also ran HJT, but it does not show all the dlls that you
have asked me to check (wurilipo.dll, gifepujo.dll, pugohawu.dll, galafota.dll, sabimije.dll). I have noticed that after every clean, I
see different 8-letter dlls being reported (seems like something is autogenerating the 8-letter dll names). However, the 3 entries that you
reported corresponding to "diloberu.dll" was still there. I did a "Fix Checked" for them and another one that stated:
O20 - AppInit_DLLs: C:\WINDOWS\system32\sabimije.dll C:\windows\system32\zitosaba.dll
I tried to look for these files in the specified directory, but I cannot find them there. So I don't know how to get them to upload
to your site. I looked at the instructions that you provided to another user (by going to My Computer -> Tools -> Folder Options), and
did that to make sure I can find the hidden files. But the system still did not show the two files "sabimije.dll" and "zitosaba.dll".
Here's the order in which I did the steps:
1) Remove old version of Java
2) Run HJT and did "Fix Checked" for the ones that you reported.
3) Tried to find the dlls, but could not find on my system. So cannot upload.
4) Updated MBAM. Then did a quick scan. Remove selected. Captured logs.
5) Restart computer.
6) Run HJT again and captured logs.
7) Wasn't sure from your instructions if you wanted the fresh MBAM logs, but I am including them anyway. It reports no infections.
7) Post it at your site.
I am already finding the system to be behaving better. In the last two months since I am dealing with this problem, it is the
first time that MBAM has not reported any infections. Also, the error on a fresh reboot about the missing dll is also gone. I am
keeping my fingers crossed, and I hope this virus is removed.
After you tell me, I will re-enable the McAfee and the Spysweeper. I didn;t have these before I got the infection, but bought them
after later. They haven't helped me as much as MBAM. Please provide suggestions to what I should do so that I do not get infected by
this in future.
A million thanks for the superb diagnosis that you have done.

Try running this AntiVirus tool while I'm away to see if it can locate anything else that might be hidden.
Download to the desktop: Dr.Web CureIt
- Doubleclick the drweb-cureit.exe file and Allow to run the express scan
- This will scan the files currently running in memory and when something is found, click the yes button when it asks you if you want to cure it. This is only a short scan.
- Once the short scan has finished, Click Options > Change settings
- Choose the "Scan"-tab, remove the mark at "Heuristic analysis".
- Back at the main window, mark the drives that you want to scan.
- Select all drives. A red dot shows which drives have been chosen.
- Click the green arrow at the right, and the scan will start.
- Click 'Yes to all' if it asks if you want to cure/move the file.
- When the scan has finished, look if you can click next icon next to the files found:

If so, click it and then click the next icon right below and select Move incurable as you'll see in next image:

This will move it to the %userprofile%\DoctorWeb\quarantaine-folder if it can't be cured. (this in case if we need samples) - After selecting, in the Dr.Web CureIt menu on top, click file and choose save report list
- Save the report to your desktop. The report will be called DrWeb.csv
- Close Dr.Web Cureit.
- Reboot your computer!! Because it could be possible that files in use will be moved/deleted during reboot.
- After reboot, post the contents of the log from Dr.Web you saved previously in your next reply with a new hijackthis log.
Then run this again
Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
- Start MalwareBytes AntiMalware
- Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
- Select the Update tab
- Click Update
- Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
- When the update is complete, select the Scanner tab
- Select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.
- When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
- Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
- When completed, a log will open in Notepad. please copy and paste the log into your next reply
- If you accidently close it, the log file is saved here and will be named like this:
- C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\mbam-log-date (time).txt
- If you accidently close it, the log file is saved here and will be named like this:

I enabled McAfee for active protection. I tried McAfee scan too, and it detected a file HighKey1.exe that was put into the quaratine folder by DrWeb Cureit (and reported as incurable). Here's the details from McAfee scan.
Detection Name: Generic PUP.x
Detection Type: Potentially Unwanted Program
Status: Detected
Items:
File Name C:\Documents and Settings\Preethi Sasikumar\DoctorWeb\Quarantine\highkey1.exe
I have not removed it yet, if you needed this for any analysis.
I also ran DrWeb Cureit one more time. The express scan did not find any virus. But the complete scan reported some virus (filenames were 8-letter dlls that I had being seeing earlier). Here's the DrWeb.csv log
gokehama.dll;C:\WINDOWS\system32;Probably Trojan.Packed.412;Incurable.Moved.;
lizatefa.dll;C:\WINDOWS\system32;Probably Trojan.Packed.412;Incurable.Moved.;
sadukuta.dll;C:\WINDOWS\system32;Probably Trojan.Packed.412;Incurable.Moved.;
tutatezu.dll.tmp;C:\WINDOWS\system32;Probably Trojan.Packed.412;Incurable.Moved.;
yifapeyi.dll;C:\WINDOWS\system32;Probably Trojan.Packed.412;Incurable.Moved.;
Let me know what else needs to be done. I thought the virus is gone, but these dlls concern me a little. My computer has been acting well though. I am not getting any undesirable popups. No dll errors on startup. MBAM logs are clean.
Thanks
Sudhir

Well I was hoping for a clean round this time, but seeing another item wasn't good.
Please temporarily disable your AntiVirus and run the Dr Web scanner again (download a new copy) just to make sure.
I think you're probably clean but I'd like to have another scanner check it as well.
Post back the logs from Dr Web.

I did the express scan and the complete scan. It did not report any virus. I did update Dr. Web scanner before starting the scan.
Let me know what you think. My computer seems to be running fine, the previous MBAM logs reported only 1 infection in the last 10 scans.

Okay well then as long as Dr Web and MBAM both say the system is clean now and HJT isn't showing anything you appear to be clean now.
I highly recommend that you update IE6 to IE7 as it has better protection than 6
[indent]At this time your system appears to be clean. Nothing else in the logs indicates that you are still infected.
Now that you appear to be clean, please follow these simple steps in order to keep your computer clean and secure:
Disable and Enable System Restore-WINDOWS XP
This is a good time to clear your existing system restore points and establish a new clean restore point:
Turn off System Restore
Here are some free programs I recommend that could help you improve your computer's security.
