My laptop's been making weird grinding noises from the left side of it. Also, my laptop takes really long to load the icons when booting.

Sounds like your hard drive is going out due to mechanical failure. Unfortunately it happens and is quite common. I would highly recommend you quickly back up all the files you need to keep and make sure you've got all the drivers for the PC from the manufacturer so you can buy a new drive, or if the laptop's under warranty backup your stuff and contact their support.

Do you mean get it back from the manufacturer? If so, then yes, you'll get it back, but the hard drive will be replaced which means all your data will be gone as they don't give you back your old hard drive, so back up your data before you send it off (if it's under warranty).
