I've been putting up with this annoyance for a while now, but thought perhaps someone could offer some help or advice.

I've got a a WebSTAR DPX2203 modem that was supplied by Time Warner Cable. When I hook my main PC directly into the modem, the internet connection works just fine indefinitely. Whenever I add a router into the mix though, things are just fine for a while, but then the network connection will drop briefly. When it's being a royal pain, it'll drop connection every half hour or so. Most of the time the drop is brief enough that I can usually maintain my work VPN connection if I have that running, but it's enough to mess up a Skype call and it's getting annoying. :D

Originally I was using a D-Link Dl614+, and was thrilled when that thing dropped the connection one day and would not start working again, figuring maybe that router was so ancient that it had been the problem all along. I picked up a new Belkin N Wireless and am still experiencing the connection drops. Is there anything that I can explore to try to fix this, or should I just try to hassle Time Warner into exchanging the modem?

Thanks in advance for any ideas anyone can offer. :excl:
