Hello all,

After getting a nasty vundo/browser hijack/trojan surprise around christmas I am not malware free thanks to Advancedsetup.

He suggested that i post here for help with regards to decreasing my startup times. My PC used to boot pretty fast (i got it in July) since the infection its taking a bit longer.

from hitting the power button: the dell screen comes on, then 2 seconds to decide if i want to use the recovery mode or normal windows, then the windows "window" screen. then the blue background that has the word "Welcome" loads and it takes about 10-20 seconds before it gets to my deskstop background. all in all its about 1 minute to get to a working postion, is there anything i can do about this?

Thanks in advance! :excl:

Howdy,

1 min. is quite nice considering it has to decide if it wants to go to recovery console or just start normally.

You need to check your start ups and get rid of anything unnecessary. MB has a nice little program StartUpLite that can be downloaded from here.
