I just downloaded and installed MBAM on an XP Pro SP2 machine. I ran a quick scan and nothing was found (I don't think there is any malware on this machine, just installing for safety). I then attempted to check for updates. My firewall complained so I allowed the requested connection. After about 15 seconds, a message said the upgrade from database 1616 to 1616 was completed successfully. Since this did not seem to make much sense, I searched for updates again. It looked like it downloaded something, and then had an error and shut down. Now, when I try to run it, I get "Error loading database. Line #3247. (0)."

Please uninstall the program, reboot. Then re-install and let me know if you're still having the same issue or not.

Hmm... That seemed to work. It updated from database 1616 to 1640. Do you think that the connection delay due to the firewall confused it?

Yes it probably was just a freak occurrence.
Does your system scan clean? Are there any issues you need help with?
