I'm a believer in not fixing things that are not broken, so I was content running XP Pro on my computer as it worked perfectly fine. Until I upgraded my motherboard/processor and added an SATA RAID setup, that is. The new mainboard required at least SP2, so I created a slipstream CD and did a fresh install. Ever since, I have had issues with web pages loading correctly. At first I thought it was some IE issue, so I installed Mozilla. Mozilla is better but still has the same problems. Web pages will sometimes not load at all, will sometimes load partly only, or will sometimes load as gibberish (a bunch of text characters only). This requires refreshing sometimes multiple times to get it to load correctly. With Mozilla only, even on webpages that otherwise load properly, some pictures will load in a "broken" fashion. It is like they are cut into (usually 4) rectangular pieces that are mixed up, sometimes tinted with a color.
I just installed SP3 (as an upgrade) and am experiencing the same problems. I would guess this is caused by some jacked up registry settings in Windows, but I don't know. I really don't want to do a fresh install.
Any ideas where to start?

Greetings secureme and welcome. From your description of the issues the first place I would start is with your connection to the internet. First check the manufacturer of the NIC's support site for driver updates. Then, if you have a second PC to test with, connect it to the same router or modem you're using and see if it has any of the same problems, if it doesn't then the problem is isolated to the troubled PC.

Good call on the network card.
Other computers on the same router do not exhibit the problem. The NIC is built on the mainboard. Before messing with drivers, I threw a DFE-530TX+ card I had lying around in and the problems went away! I am now back on the built-in NIC updated with the latest drivers, and so far so good. Who knew it would be so easy to fix? Thank you!

You're very welcome. Funny thing is, most problems are easy to fix, the hardest part is often figuring out what needs to be fixed. Diagnosis can be a pain. Good luck and safe surfing.
