Firefox isn't suddenly less secure because a rogue calls itself Firefox. If that were the case, no one would use MBAM since so many rogues model after the name..

Unless the drive was tiny or you had incredible compression, I doubt you could store the image without paying a ton for the space. Make an image and burn 5 DVDs for backups... No idea what you mean by loss of SP3.
