Felix might lift-off today

14 October 2012 - 10:04 AM

After several weather delays, today might finally be the day, weather permitting.

Preparations are underway...

Perhaps the delays are fortuitous, as today is the anniversary of another feat: It marks the 65th anniversary of U.S. test pilot Chuck Yeager's successful attempt to become the first man to officially break the sound barrier aboard an airplane.

The data gathered from this feat -- regardless of the outcome -- will be used to advance the science and technology of aviator survival/rescue.
So, it represents much more than a "daredevil" stunt.
(The team medical director is the widower of a Columbia astronaut.)

Fingers and toes crossed for Felix.

FP: GoogleEarthSetup.exe

25 September 2012 - 09:52 AM

Hi:

Just got a FP hit on an earlier version of the GoogleEarth setup file that's been on the computer for months.
https://www.virustot...sis/1348584368/

Virustotal:
SHA256: e9f6b43113ea1cc4e4dbb590ed6f436f07fe9cbd1bf403f6b2bdbb5df72da120 File name: GoogleEarthSetup-old.exe Detection ratio: 0 / 43 Analysis date: 2012-09-25 14:46:08 UTC ( 1 minute ago )

EDIT: My bad! I forgot to run the MBAM developer scan before I ignored the file that was detected on the original scan. So, I don't suppose it's of any use to you now, but I've attached it anyway. Sorry!

Thanks!

PS The setup file for the most recent version of the program is NOT detected by MBAM. Moreover, it's an outdated version of the program, so I can just delete the file from my downloads folder.
