I did carry out the full clean procedure with Malwarebytes before system restore, so can I now assume I am not infected?

Many thanks for your offer of help noknojon .
I eventually found a post from someone with a similar problem. 3 steps down that fix was giving no joy, so I went into Safe Mode and rolled the system back to pre-infection.
It seems fine now.
