Wilders Security forum access?

12 May 2013 - 07:26 PM

Is it just me, or is anyone else having difficulty accessing the Wilders Security forums? (I've purchased ESET for my computers...haven't installed yet, still on a trial version with the new rig and the others are still running MSE.) Wilders is the only website I'm having problems with. All browsers, Windows and Apple devices.

(Edited to add: Maybe this should go in the General Chat part of this forum? If so, mods, feel free to move the topic. :))

Google Chrome browser icon and rt click option

21 September 2012 - 11:38 AM

Hi there!

I just noticed a different icon on my Chrome Browser yesterday and then today on my Windows XP SP3 desktop and laptop computers. On the desktop, this icon, which looked like a little green traffic light, showed up on my bookmarks toolbar. Today, I just happened to notice that when I right click anywhere on a web page, I see a dropdown menu with the option to share the page on facebook or twitter, and this icon appears beside it. I didn't install any extensions to do this, since I don't belong to facebook or twitter.

Is this normal behavior for Google Chrome? I'm looking around for this, and I am coming across articles about extensions that allow this, but nothing about this being built into the browser.

On both computers, the actual image file itself happens to be in an extension folder with files for my Bitdefender Trafficlight extension.

On my laptop, I have ForecastFox, Trafficlight, MailcheckerPlus (not activated), Speeddial, and WOT. The desktop just has TrafficLight, Speeddial, and WOT installed.

Excessive memory usage of mbamservice.exe

19 June 2012 - 12:31 PM

I just noticed this today because I was having trouble with my Google Chrome browser on this computer. I checked task manager and noticed mbamservice.exe is running at over 106,000 k of memory. On my laptop, it runs at about 34,000. I rebooted the computer and Google Chrome now works again, but mbamservice.exe is still running high.

Windows XP SP3, Microsoft Security Essentials, Windows Firewall (behind a router with a firewall). All exceptions have been added to MSE and MBAM so they're supposed to be ignoring each other.

So...clean uninstall/reinstall route?
