Hey guys,

I have been having problems for the past few days with something new and undeniably annoying. I have been receiving connection errors to ALL websites as

"Notification Server Error

Error Code: (404)

occurred whiles accessing site."

It initially started as a redirection to other websites that I was on previously, sun.java.com was the first one, and when I tried my IE explorer with no luck it proceeded to redirect my firefox to the Microsoft update page as i have it set as my start page for IE. On firefox i was capable of clicking the gmail notification and check my email, it fails now, formerly I was able to refresh multiple times on IE to get it to connect to pages but it has hence stopped working all together. The internet works, I have tried running Eset, updated SpyBot, CCleaner, and ComboFix with no luck..

I guess I will un/reinstall firefox but it does not to seem to be the problem to me, as it is probably a malware infecting my TCIP or some area close..

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I have never experienced anything like this that I was unable to fix by surfing the web for a few moments before.

I think that it may be a rootkit problem, checking out RootAlyzer, shall keep people updated on the process.

Seems like that the problem was with some oddity in the settings that I had, just conveniently started to botch the intranet, luckily it was not a nasty rootkit as i has suspected..

Please ensure you read this guide carefully and install the Recovery Console first.
NOTE!!: You must save and run ComboFix.exe on your DESKTOP and not from any other folder.

• When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.
