Full Version: Can not remove Virtumonde/Vundo

Good Morning (I hope for someone, anyways!)

I have been trying to remove this trojan for the better part of 36 hours. I have run spybot and malwarebytes. Both find & destroy... but then when scanned immediately, 2 or so files are found again. I'm not sure what else to do.

I have to go to work shortly and will not be able to procede until after 6pm tonight. I thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

To be honest, I'm not sure what combination worked, but finally using Anti-Malwarebytes, Spybot and AVG, I seem to be clean. No "findings" in any scans, and no symptoms....

If there is anyone who would be willing to check diagnostics, please let me know. If I need to run new logs I'll be happy to... but I don't want to do it if nobody will check.

MBAM 1.31 has nuch better abilities to remove this one . If you have upgraded then this is likely what happened .

I would also really appreciate any recommendations for what spyware/virus protection you recommend I load/run permanently. Everything I put on the laptop made it run very slowly, so I have (temporarily) removed everything except a free trial of McAfee.

Would you be willing to recommend what anti-spy/malware program(s) I should be running? Right now I'm just on a free McAfee trial. Would love expert advice.
