If I delete all the extra language files leaving only english.lng MBAM won't start, returning Error Code 707 (0, 0)
Needs to have dutch.lng there as well.
exile360
Greetings BAM and welcome smile.gif .

If that's the case, then I'd recommend not deleting the language files as they aren't very large and don't occupy much space anyway smile.gif .

Works fine for me so far, no troubles so far.

It starts with Windows, as does the IP blocking and the protection module.

Atribune.org is now unblocked for me as well (I have XP).
Bazza
Working very well. Many thanks guys.

Same situation, but chineseTR.lng instead of dutch.lng.

Greetings Manide smile.gif .

Please see my post above (#8).

Hello BAM and Manide

Please do not alter the install and it should work properly. Certainly you don't go around randomly deleting files from installation programs and then contact the publisher to complain that it isn't working.

Cheers

Greetings Manide smile.gif .

Please see my post above (#8).

I've read all posts before mine. Just wanted to mention this, which didn't happen before.

I apologise if my post offended.

Best regards!

I've just updated to version 1.41 and it's working well. Much as the IP Protection function is appreciated, I find the constant notifications in the taskbar rather irritating - is there a method to disable notifications without IP Protection also?
Another subscriber to this thread mentioned an auto-update capability, I thoroughly agree this would be a great idea..!
Thanks for the good work.

No offense taken, I was just stating that if the only cause of the problem is removing those files, then I'd leave them alone smile.gif .

Perhaps I've misunderstood what you mean, but there's a box you can check under the Protection tab that enables you to set a time for automatic updates once a day. This feature has been there for as long as I've used MBAM, so perhaps you're referring to something else?

Thanks for your reply. I have that option set on my system to 1pm, when I know I'll be connected (usually). I was thinking along the lines of an auto update at startup - much as with ESET Smart Security. I generally do a manual update check once morning and once night time anyway and that's become something of a habit anyways.

Any thoughts on the IP Protection popups? Is anyone else getting this (substancially), and a trifle miffed at having to close it each time it pops up?

Regards, divo

I don't necessarily agree with this and I'll tell you why. I speak the English language and only the English language. My operating systems on all of my computers are set to use the English language. Why would I want other language files (regardless of size) on my computer if they don't need to be there? I'll give you an example of a program where I do delete the language files and the program still works fine: CCleaner. I delete the "lang" folder and everything still works. I'm not saying you are wrong, just stating my opinion.

I think I got a couple of false positives in MBAM 1.40 which MBAM 1.41 has now resolved.

See my thread here for further details:

http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=23975

I am wondering if it was to do with the 'junction problem' (whatever that is. lol.) which was fixed in MBAM 1.41.
RubbeR DuckY
We will look into making it process only one language file in the near future!

@Marcin,

Thanks for replying. I didn't mean to stir up anything or create additional work. I was just offering my point of view. I don't think adding that feature could hurt though.
srtools1980y
As of now automatic update scheduling facility is available only once in 24 hours.
But I find that inbetween the 24 hour time gap, atleast 3 to 4 updates are available, which has to be done manually.
There is no notification when new updates are ready.

What is suggest is why can't u provide an option for updating as and when updates are available. (say like Avira a/v).

Another member divo has also suggested this feature.

Just thought I'd mention it as it wasn't a problem with earlier versions. It's just a habit I have, removing unnecessary files from my hdd.

Thank you, I'll try it wink.gif

Thanks to all MBAM staff for such a quick fix and update. Excellent job -- I can't live without my MBAM (3 licensed copies). I feel nekkid if it isn't running!

Any ideas how to use the ignore list for IP protection? Does it work?

I have my own site which I still can not access with IP Protection.. any ideas?
exile360
Greetings hkaurk22 smile.gif .

Unfortunately an ignore list for the IP Protection hasn't yet been implemented and I'm not sure if it's going to be made an option or not. There are some new options for the IP Protection in the new version though, and they are documented here.

Hello jelrik smile.gif .

Please refer to this post: IP Blocking False Positives
and post the info here: False Positives and the individual in charge of the IP threats database will take a look and see if these items are false positives, and if they are they will be corrected in a future definitions update.

I'm running XP sp2 with AVG as my antivirus with Advance System Care Pro 3.3.4 and Malwarebytes 1.41. For several months I have not been able to get MB to auto update and auto scan.. any ideas..?
yardbird
@ mudflap Files of Malwarebytes that need to be trusted by AVG

Go to AVG, then add our files to the exclusion list:
Right-click the AVG icon in the system tray.
On the shortcut menu select Launch Control Center.
Click the 'Tools' tab, select Advanced settings...'
Scroll down or select 'Exceptions'
Click 'Add List' and copy and paste the following list of files:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\mbam.sys
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe
Click OK 3 times.
Reboot your PC.

Now If you have already done the above well research your problem somemore! Either way post back with your results.
If you didn't configure AVG above, please do so... any comments or questions? regards..
