My Cyberlink PowerDVD ver. 8.0 ultra is not responding. I mean the prog is not opening.
Uninstalled & installed. Same prob.
It was fine with Mbam ver. 1.4.
Now after upgrading toMbam ver 1.41, I am opening PowerDVD for the first time today.
I uninstalled Mbam & now PowerDVD is responding.
Now I want guidance.

Greetings srtools

.
I'd recommend making a post in the Honorary Members area or perhaps contacting support so that one of the developers can assist you in debugging and hopefully correcting the issue.

I'll do it, exile360.

I use the same version and haven't had any issues so far, but I haven't used it in quite a while since Windows Media Player and Media Center can both play DVD's themselves. I'll check it out when I get home (I'm @work right now and won't be home until the morning).

Your PowerDVD isn't working either? Looks like the developers have a new bug on their plate.

exile360,
Take your time.
fyi & for others also: There's a media player known as ''Best Media Player".
This has a very lite footprint & supports most formats. (except .swf)
It's free also.
Homepage: http://bestmediaplayer.com/

I've seen it but never tried it....how does it work for you? ok?

Really it's nice, lite with no frills & it's free.
I had wmp, winamp, real, divx, power dvd, gom etc, etc.
In one of the home desktops I uninstalled all the above except gom (for .swf) & best media player.
No probs. These 2 (i mean gom & best media player) take care of most common formats.
Please give it a try.
Then what about powerdvd & mbam prob.
Any suggestions?

I use Shark007's Vista Codec Package (it's free), it works for XP as well and he's also got a version for Windows 7. It lets me play any format in any media player, including FLV, MOV, MP4, SWF, DivX, OGG etc. And of course there's always VLC and MediaPlayer Classic, both of which are also free.

The main page for it is
here and you can download it
here. I forgot to mention, it also lets you play RealMedia files as well

. I haven't found a format it doesn't support so far. It even lets you play the very obscure MKV format.

I informed cyberlink regd. this issue. They say these types of incompatibility issues (if it is so) has to be resolved by the respective a/v companies & till date they have not received any queries from other customers.
Can I add it to MBAM's whitelist?
Fyi: There are no issues with cyberlink power2go6 ver. 6.0 (burning soft.).
yardbird: what happened?
exile360
Sep 18 2009, 08:36 AM
Unfortunately MBAM has no whitelisting capability, aside from ignoring something it detects as malicious

. That's why I recommended contacting the developers, as they're the only ones who might be able to resolve it.

I believe srtools was wondering how the Codec Pack worked out for you, but I doubt you've had a chance to install it yet.
