Good morning MB Forum, as the title says (I'm sorry for my bad English), after formatting:

1) I must repeat all updates?

2) Or the 1st update installed is the last?

Wheh I've installed MBAM the database version was ancient, but now it's 2922.

Doubt about silentipmode by regedit: Can I see if IP Protection is working really?

I ask this because I could have confusion in regedit.

Best regards for actually work, development and assistance! wink.gif

You most certainly need to go to Microsoft and get ALL critical updates.

Install and update an Anti-Virus program as well and enable your firewall.

AdvancedSetup and myself were typing at the same time. So after your done with his instructions. It will be a while, post back any questions about any issues about MBAM, & the IP Protection...regards...

For MBAM, all it's detection definitions are contained in each database so you'd only need to download the latest one, which it appears you already did smile.gif . As AdvancedSetup stated though, everything else (including Windows) will need to be updated to keep your PC secure.

I'm sorry but I don't understand (I'musing now traductor mellow.gif):

# Avira, FW Online Armor, Spywareblaster, Spybot and MBAM are my software. I don't understand for IP protection!

Then every UPDATE contains the previous definitions? Ok! wink.gif

@Iron,

IP protection is the newest feature as of version 1.40. It is only available if you are using the paid version of MBAM. So if you aren't, disregard. It basically blocks any attempts to known malicious IP addresses before your computer can access them. More information can be found here.

Correct, every update contains the entire malware database. I'm sure there are many additions and subtractions that are made for each database version, so it's hard to say whether the previous detections are amongst the new database versions unless you perform a scan on the same malware and it finds it smile.gif I believe they generally remove old malware that is not in the wild anymore and malware that the major antivirus companies pick up easily.
