The article had nothing to do with the quality of parts, but I'm inclined to agree, most OEM notebooks have the cheapest parts in them. What they're talking about is the small size and low performance of netbooks. They aren't designed for everyday computing, they're a step smaller than a notebook but a step bigger than the UMPC's (handhelds like the good old Sony UX and OQO). They're basically internet machines designed for portability (hence the name
netbooks

). Many people don't understand this and think it's just a smaller notebook, but it's incorrect. If you want small size and decent capabilities go with a slightly larger (and much more expensive) 12-13 inch notebook. Sony makes some nice ones and HP has some decent 14" books that aren't too bad at all
