Full Version: Strange startup ??

Hi - Since I had my startup altered/fixed I now have developed a new odd "problem" -
I turn the computer off normally (Start > Turn off > Turn off) and wait until I get "No signal" and turn off screen also - Then at nights I turn the computer and modem off at the wall - (Multi switch adapter for all items) -
Now all I do is turn the wall switch back on and the computer starts automatically - The screen is still off, and the modem starts to power up (normal) - I do not press start or any other switches - unsure.gif
P.S. ;
The topic for my previous starting problems seems to have been deleted so I cannot use this as a reference -

That would be an issue with your BIOS settings as Windows can't control cold-boot startup behavior.

Will reboot and check settings - Altered a setting or 2 lately -
Must get the manual out again - wink.gif Thanks -

No problem smile.gif .

The only way it could be Windows is if the Power Settings were changed (accessible on the same panel as your Screensaver settings), but again, that wouldn't affect a cold boot, which is what starting up from Post (the BIOS loads first) would be.

Thanks -
Changed a few settings and it sems better - wink.gif Faster start up too -
I must have set something to the wrong one - sleep.gif
EDIT -
I should do it by the book ( or follow your advice only )-
